Journeys 2019 – What an Amazing Event!

Birkenstock Beach Boardwalk

Birkenstock invited Journeys' top store managers to kick off the 2019 Journeys National Sales Meeting by kicking back at the “Birkenstock Beach Boardwalk”. This activation featured classic arcade games, caricature artists, tarot card readers, specialty cocktails, chill beach beats from a DJ, and comfortable seating options that complemented fresh new Birkenstock branding.

Happy Hour

Happy Hour was a huge hit and drew nearly 700 attendees to celebrate the opening day of the meeting. Thanks to our new friends at Birkenstockfor entrusting Destination Musick City and Gary Musick Productions with the design and execution of this fantastic promotion!

Hyped-Up Session

A hot pink backdrop with custom 12’ circular logo and giant graphic cubes set the stage for the opening “Hyped-Up” session during the 2019 Journeys National Sales Meeting this week at the Omni Nashville Hotel. Gary Musick Productions sound, lighting, and AV support consisting of four huge projection screens featuring live I-MAG projection, graphics and videos to support each presentation. A 54’ long runway was a hit with attendees and presenters alike, especially during Journeys' first ever footwear fashion show highlighting new products for the upcoming buying season. Store managers and home office volunteers hit the runway to show off the top youth oriented shoe lines coming to Journeys' stores. Music underscore from our DJ Nik kept the energy – and models – upbeat and engaging for the 45-minute production. It was an awesome morning of business fun and fashion! This was GMP’s 6th consecutive year to partner with Journeys on their National Sales Meeting.

Festival of Festivals

750 Journey’s store managers and home office team members partied in a big way this past Monday night at the “Festival of Festivals” theme party and concert, sponsored by VANS. The VANS night is always a favorite event at the Journeys National Sales Meeting, and this year was the best yet! Nashville’s Music City Center was the site of the event where attendees played, danced, networked, won prizes, and were entertained by the legendary band “New Found Glory”. Destination Musick City designed, planned and produced the event in conjunction with VANS and the Journeys meeting team of Heather Dameron, Mary Walley, and Katie Hefner. Such a fun night!

Dr. Martens Party

Nashville Underground was the perfect location to host the awards afterparty for the Journeys 2019 National Sales Meeting. Dr. Martens partnered with Journeys to sponsor the late night bash that included performances by Bully and Gnarcissists, as well as a killer silent disco party in the club’s LED bar. Underground Nashville’s four different floors provided a way to create distinctly different activities and environments that appealed to every attendee’s preferences. Dr. Martens provided a custom lace bar where guests could pick up unique shoe strings for their favorite pair of Dr. Martens. Dart boards, customized guitar amp video walls, photo opps, and dueling DJ’s made this a fantastic celebration of Journeys’ top performing employees!
